Background
Emma Sandvik Ling holds a First Class MA in International Peace and Security from King’s College London, where she specialised in cyber security, feminist IR theory, and the MENA region. Her dissertation looked at conflicting definitions of violence and asked to what extent cyber attacks could be defined as violent. She also holds a First Class Bachelor's degree in Politics from the University of Ediburgh.
Emma is currently working for the UK-based charity Index on Censorship which defends freedom of expression around the world. She is particularly interested in the impact of international relations on individual lives.
Emma has lived in six countries and speaks three languages.
