Purpose

The Work-Life Balance Policy at CYIS is designed to support the well-being of our employees by promoting a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. We recognize that our employees' performance and satisfaction are enhanced when they feel their work-life balance is respected and supported. This policy outlines our commitment and approach to facilitating a flexible and supportive work environment.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees of CYIS, including full-time, part-time, temporary, and contract workers across all departments and levels of the organization.

Policy Statement
CYIS is committed to:

• Flexible Working Arrangements:

Offering flexible work schedules, remote work options, and part-time work opportunities where feasible, to accommodate the diverse needs of our employees.

• Time Off: Providing generous time off, including vacation, personal days, and sick leave, to ensure employees can rest, recover, and attend to personal matters.

• Support for Family and Personal Life: Supporting employees with family responsibilities through policies such as parental leave, family emergency leave, and support for child and elder care.

• Employee Assistance Programs:

Offering access to employee assistance programs (EAP) that provide confidential counseling and support for personal and work-related issues.


• Health and Wellness Programs:

Promoting employee health and wellness through initiatives such as fitness classes, health screenings, and wellness challenges to encourage a healthy lifestyle.


• Encouraging Disconnecting from Work:

Advocating for regular breaks during the workday and respecting employees' time outside of work hours by minimizing expectations for work-related communications during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Implementation
Work Arrangement Options:

Managers and employees will collaboratively determine flexible work arrangements that meet both the operational needs of CYIS and the personal needs of employees.

• Leave Management:

HR will provide clear information and support to employees regarding their entitlements and the process for requesting and managing leave.

• Health and Wellness Initiatives:

The HR department will coordinate health and wellness programs, tailoring these initiatives to meet the diverse needs and interests of our employees.


• Training and Awareness:

Regular training sessions and communications will be provided to both employees and managers to promote awareness and uptake of work-life balance practices and policies.

Responsibilities

Leadership is responsible for endorsing and modeling work-life balance practices, ensuring that managers and teams are supported in implementing this policy.

Managers are responsible for accommodating flexible work arrangements where possible, respecting employees' time off, and promoting a culture of health and well-being within their teams.

Human Resources is tasked with administering leave and flexible working arrangements, providing access to EAPs, and coordinating health and wellness initiatives.

Employees are encouraged to communicate their needs regarding work-life balance to their managers, utilize the policies and programs available, and respect the work-life balance needs of their colleagues.

Review and Modification

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our employees and the organization. Feedback from employees will be actively sought and considered in any revisions to enhance the effectiveness of our work-life balance initiatives.
